A wonderful city of 45,000 people. The town center is on a peninsula so you can bounce between the waterfronts and wind uphill streets and spiral down cobblestone sidewalks. You can easily spend the day shopping and eating! Getting lost was my favorite part!
I arrived before the town awoke so I quickly got my bearings. Strolled past a few shops and marked them on my map so I could return once they opened.
I found myself crossing a bridge dotted with flowers and small boats in the canal. I followed the accordian music until I found its source then parked there for quite some time. They have heated benches!!
To get out of the rain I wondered into Wayne’s Coffee. To my surprise it was a wifi, bread, cheese, fuit, breakfast buffet haven! And they offered complimentary fresh orange juice with free refills…. Like who does that?! Is this place real?! Sipped my coffee and snacked on my pastry while the man outside continued to play his accordian out my window, talk about soaking it in.
Most shops open around 9am so I headed straight for b.young in the Kremmergaarden Shopping Center and picked up these two tops!
I then headed off to Mezo and found a few great finds as well. The best part about shopping in Norway is that I can wear everything back home! And I’m obviously taking notes of the brands the Resolute can potentially carry! I asked the sales chick at Mezo where her favorite places to shop were and she pin pointed a few on my map so I didn’t hesitate to follow her advice. She lead me to the Aalesund storesenter, a massive shopping center for homegoods and clothing. Every price range. My first victim was the Ting & Saant Kremmerhuset store where I found myself some souvenirs I could actually use!
I wanted so badly to buy more but there’s only so much room in my suitcase!
Then into Carlinds, and Bik Bok where I got some high waisted skinnies and a crop top for a ridicoulously good price!
Anyone ever go to Ålesund and shop? If so did you find any hidden boutiques? What did you wear and what did you score?
xoxo,
