When shopping for jewelry, there are three things to know.

  1. First, solid gold is the finest, it will never corrode. It's also the most expensive. Ways to help cut down cost is by buying semi-solid gold, such as the gold hoops pictured in this post. It's a hollowed out piece, allowing for less weight and less cost. Second best would be Gold Fill which can withstand corrosion for decades. I do not recommend purchasing anything gold plated.

  2. Find the stamp. Gold will always state its carat weight. Silver will be stamped .925.

  3. Look up the price of silver or gold before browsing. Often times negotiating power lies in the daily price for metals. Beware of gemstones. One dirty trick I learned from Juneau's notorious South Franklin Street is that synthetic stones are literally made in a lab and can cost dollars then sold for hundreds. Diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, tanzanite and more are at risk for being deceiving, always ask if its synthetic or natural. Search for genuine stones, who created the piece matters once more.

Emerging from the depths, a timeless and corrosion resistant collection of gems that slipped the decks on ever making it to the webstore during the storefront days. Serving as a pulse, these pieces hold a very special place in my heart. They are transitional pieces, from one era to another, and from one generation to the next. I have waited a long time to source a small fine jewelry collection, ironic how it slid it last, yet still remains. I watched makers and markets for years, wanting something unique, featuring uncommon shapes, powerful gemstones, and style. In a world of typical, I hunted for anything but. This collection represents everything I love about individuality and precious heirloom pieces.

Please let me know how I can help you find the perfect one for you.

Cheers,

PS - I'm keeping the hoops! ;)
