October met me with 40 degrees, 40 knots, and sideways rain betraying my makeup. Burnout wouldn't toast your ass so bad if there was a big pile of treasure at the end of season. But where are those riches anyway? Lost to the exchange rates and economic trends I suppose. Either way, after closing out a decade long marriage it felt right to shed more than a husband. Closing out the retail shop would certainly bring back my time. I could really use some space to be creative.
By December 31st, a record breaking snow storm, my closest friends and staff and I closed the doors for the last time. Honoring it with Four Roses Whiskey, an Old Shop tradition. Down to a tote of apparel, three pairs of shoes, a hat, and a book I felt pretty good. Biggest cash-out of my life. Unequipped with a plan, I closed out my books and went skiing to sort over my next move.
There's been plenty of time to reflect. I spent 7 years working the brick and mortar, a lot to be thankful for and a lot of hours learning! In hindsight I can identify mistakes and missed opportunities, yet there's a maze of wonderful memories, amazing customers turned friends, and so much more. So much love to that shop, it provided so much for my family and I.
Nearly everything was sold aside from some highly coveted jewelry. Which is now what's listed on this site. I don't see myself stocking apparel for quite sometime. Unless perhaps it's too good to be true, or I made it somehow. I want to let this brand ride a little and give way to new endeavors. In other words, setting sail yet again haha.
Cheers to the next,
