There's a thrill few understand, and for sure one of my favorite things to do. Since I was a kid, we'd dress up in all the gear and face the storm (except when I was really little I didn't have the best, but if you cut out arm holes in a black plastic bag, it got you pretty far). In most places in the world, school would cancel for 90mph gusts, but in Alaska the day continues, it just usually contains a few extra delays and shortcomings. But nothing to get your panties in a bunch over. In fact, if you wear the right gear, 10ft+ seas can be really fun! Call us crazy, or just call us Alaskan. You have to be a certain level of insane to live in Alaska in the first place, and to embrace the storms is just part of the culture. What's fun unless you're risking a little just to get some frozen sea spray on your boots?

Cheers!
